A great day on the water from some boat handling drills. Steve was keen to get in a bit of practice both in deploying the boat on Putney Embankment, testing the engine & trying some manoeuvres. Boat & trailer performed well. Femti (the rhib) slipped effortlessly into the river and once under Tower Bridge Steve gave it the full throttle. It would have been nice to have had some warning as we almost lost Mark off the stern into what must have been very low temperature waters. It still feels like quite a privilege to be able to use the Thames for boating, passing within metres of the Eye, Parliament and all the sites. We would encourage all members to sign up to a boat handling course and get out on the river. Its great fun but maybe wait until the temperatures rise a bit.
