Once again Putney BSAC senior citizens dive club visited Porthkerris in Cornwall
It’s a long drive down from London but it’s worth it when you get there. A private beach dedicated to diving. A log cabin all to ourselves. Cafe and airfills right by the beach. Everything you need for a great diving weekend.
Lizard point offers some of the best diving on the South Coast. The manacles are an underwater rock formation covered in reef with lots of gullies to explore and more than its fair share of wrecks.
The first dive on the last day was a particularly good dive, a 30m high underwater pinnacle covered in jewel anemones in a beautiful range of colours. At least it was a good dive for those of us that found the pinnacle!
The low point of the trip was having to suffer through England’s performance in Euro 2024. Luckily John was there to provide nuanced and upbeat commentary through out.
