On September 2nd we headed down to Swanage to take some of our Ocean Divers for their first dives in the sea. Luckily we had great diving conditions; calm seas and blue skies. We also lucked out with the diving conditions under water.
We dived under the Swanage pier and on the Valentine tanks. Both straight forward shallow dives, but that doesn’t make them any less interesting than more challenging dives. Both sites were teeming with life. There was shrimp, anaemoes and schools of fish under the pier; and crabs, conger eels and bigger schools of fish on the tanks. All in all, a successful day trip and many happy ocean divers with some real UK diving experience under their belt.
Lastly, if you’re diving the Valentine Tanks keep your eyes open for a weight belt…
